“Yana” is a character design but also a fashion illustration. I wanted badly to draw black leather boots because I think they’re simply gorgeous. I don’t own a pair myself (not yet at least!). Also, I think a longer jacket and boots make a great combination. Her make up and hair colors are on the same shade-scale, same with her lips and blush.

Her jacket is a winter jacket-design and I had a lot of fun when designing the jacket. It went through a lot of changes during the painting process. It was red first, but I think that when combined with those boots it made her look like a fox hunter. Also, the fur decorations were first supposed to be black feathers, but I think fur looks more elegant. And I think lace suits a winter jacket pretty well - it should be used more.
