Your Vice

This is a re-painted version of my old art work called “Anna”.

I hardly ever paint anything this dark, but for some reason I started to think about the word “vice” and decided to use it as the theme here. Also, her leather boots are pretty kinky - that might have had some influence on the theme, too…

Candy Swing redrawn (from 2007-2008 to 2011) - click for a bigger size

Improvement meme by Bampire.

The first “Candyswing” was drawn in 2007 or 2008. I’m not quite sure and because I’ve lost the original version with my old computer when it broke down, so I can’t check. But I remember it was drawn with markers and colored digitally. And back then I had my manga-phase on.

The new version of “Candyswing” was sketched with a pencil and then painted digitally. There is a strong pin up-influence in the illustration. I think that will always stick with me because I love pin up art. It’s very feminine and beautiful. And I’m glad that I don’t have anything manga-ish in my art anymore, like a couple of years ago. It’s not that I don’t like it, but it just isn’t my thing. I love to read manga, but not to draw in that style.

It’s pretty obvious that I’ve moved from mixed media to digital painting 100%, and I think it has been a good choice for me. Also, my understanding of anatomy has improved a lot! As well as my digital coloring skills. It’s good to see I haven’t gone backwards, that’d be devastating. :’D

Lingerie girl

Just a quick sketch I made in school… I wanted to post it because I like it a lot for some reason. Possibly because I made it in a couple of minutes, but it doesn’t look bad. :D

Cookie

First of all: I wanted to draw big hair.

That’s the main reason why I drew Cookie, and the other reason was the desire to draw bad ass chicks. I’ve been listening to “Lady Marmalade” a lot lately - that explains it.

I ended up drawing three of them, but Cookie’s definitely my favorite. That’s why I colored her first. I combined good, old gangster-style with sexy Moulin Rouge in her outfit. She’s a little bit of a superstar, and I think her as a singer. So there’s lot of glamour in the background too, and in the background design I got to use colors which I don’t normally use: purple, bright yellow, light green… It was a nice change.

The sketch was made with a mechanical pencil, and then it was colored in Ps. Usually I make A4-size character sheets but this time I drew three characters on one sheet so the sketches were smaller than usually.

Patricia

I love pin up-art, and I love to draw pin up-girls. They’re so pretty and the fashion is amazing. I hadn’t drawn pin ups for a long time, but then I watched “Breakfast on Pluto” and got my inspiration back again. So I decided to draw a pin up-girl on a beach.

She’s called Patricia (because of the movie, yes), and I had a great time designing her clothes. Especially the skirt. Best part of drawing ladies is their clothes, definitely. I’m just a fashion-addict. ♥

I made couple of thumbnails before the actual sketch which was made with a mechanical pencil. I’m just more and more in love with thumbnails, because they help so much. After that the drawing was painted and colored in Ps.
